On/Off Schalter nicht eingeschaltet oder kaputt

my vacuum wont pick up spits everything out. I check bottom and hose nothing is clogged?

piece of junk, less than a year old and the roller won't work. I checked the belt, it's intact, the motor and roller aren't bound up, they move freely yet the roller won't spin despite the green indicator light being on. JUNK. I checked the harness connecting the motor to the board etc, just stopped working, JUNK. If it's a broken sensor or bad wiring... screw this Shark brand junk, never again. WORTHLESS JUNK.

All 3 brush position lights are flashing on mine today. Trying to figure out the cause and or solution.

Mine is less then 2 months old and I’ve already had to have the brush roller head replaced. $35.00. Shark does this on purpose so you have to spend money. Now I’m facing the same issue a week later, will the new roller head. Only this time it’s $75.00 for a new roller head. They intentionally made it this way so you couldn't fix it yourself.

I agree. It has great suction when it worked. Only 1 month old and roller is not moving and no indicator light. This is rediculas. Alot of problems that should be addressed and fixed by shark. This is my 3rd replacement. Will never waste my money again on a shark. Piece of crap.

shark nv22ln26 beater bar spins when first engaged and then stops. I dismantled and cleaned head unit and it still spins when cleaning head is pushed down and then stops. I suspect switch that engages beater bar may be defective or sticking.

Mine does exactly the same; cleaned everything...no blockage. As soon as the roller switch is engaged it runs for a few seconds and then cuts out and the light turns red.

Mine was doing the same as everyone else said. I realized there was a clog in the handle. Once I cleaned that out, it now works like new.

I had checked the flexible hose on my machine, but, after I saw your post I detached the tube from the handle, and saw a blockage there. Thanks.

My rotator brush spins only when the vacuum is standing upright, as soon as you tilt it back the power to the motor cuts out. there is no clog or resistance to the brush, it’s clearly an electrical issue. anyone have any idea what’s wrong or how to fix it? email me @ tiffymaegan@gmail.com

Hi, me too.. We’ve taken it apart and all was well. Like you, the brush will turn when it’s at a standing position.
laelpowell -
We took the vacuum apart, nothing wrong. My vacuum also will run the brush bar when it is standing, and as soon as I push the handle part back, it stop.s.
laelpowell -
Beeter brush will only activate when the vacuum body is tilted to the right. The green light stays on when I’m active position. Odd. Email me if anyone knows what I can do to fix it. Serval128@comcast.net

My shark rotator professional roller will not stay engaged, i’ve checked the roller and belt they are fine, when I press the brush roll button if it engages it does not stay on if it even engages the brush, any suggestions??

I fixed the Shark. Brush was not spinning. Had to take it apart a few times and check internet suggestions. The switch was not “clicking” that indicates that the handle was pulled out of the upright position. As soon as I loosened the small green switch assembly from the white plastic holder, something let loose and the switch began to click as needed. This fix requires the small front wheels to be removed as there are screws behind them. 8 screws total I believe to seperate the brush assembly. Also easier to do this repair with the brush assembly disconnected from the power head.

I fixed the Shark. Disconnect brush assembly from the handle. Remove all screws to separate the plastic brush assembly. Including the two screws behind the small front wheels. As soon as I loosened the small green switch from the white plastic frame, the switch began to “click”. This switch let’s the vacuum know that the handle is pulled back and not in the upright position.
jjzsnowski - Antwort
Can you send pictures of the small green switch? Is it in the roller assembly, or some where else? I’ve taken my vacuum apart several times. I tried loosening the small green assembly in the roller section, but no roller activity. I am definitely getting suction, but no roller activity.

Turned the vacuum off to empty the canister. Reattached it and the roller brush would Not turn. Took it apart; no clog, clean roller brush, belt is fine, switch is on, wand is attached securely, canister is attached securely, all filters are clean… and it still doesn’t work. Hey SHARK….. does anyone over there have any answers?
Jim Leonard - Antwort
The switch to activate the brush motor when the handle is lowered from full upright position fails. I fiddled with it (cleaning and such) and got it to work intermittently. Them I removed the switch, connecting the wires permanently. This works ok as we now just use the brush switch next to the power switch. I suppose you could order a replacement, but I needed mine to work that day. Good luck!

My vacuum will not stay stood in the upright position, the only advice given on here is to check the latch is broken, I can hear it clicking into place but it still won’t stay up.
you cannot see the latches anywhere unless I start taking it apart, this is only 3 months old and surely it should be better built than this

When my vacuum is powered on but standing upright it acts like it is dead. If I disengage the body from the floor piece the beater brushes start to roll and it kicks in, though it is definitely not as loud as it used to be like it’s only half working? But if put it back in the upright position, like you would to use the wand along the wall, it does nothing?? All of a sudden when I engage the roller it trips the circuit breaker. Never did it before. The vacuum starts fine in the upright position, use the foot to set the vacuum tie work oops tripped the circuit. I can use the hose with the floor/carpet attachment, but that doesn't do the job of deep cleaning. Anyone with the same problem? Next step is to check out the vacuum's electronics

Take the cover off like you are replacing the belt. To the right of the motor is a green switch. Take the screw off. There is two red wires. Cut them and attach the two wires and use electrical tape. Doing this made my the motor and roller spin again.

I thought it wasn't supposed to on bare floors otherwise it throws stuff back instead of sucking up. I do not have a bare floor setting on my shark and if the roller brush is engaged it throws anything bigger that dust backwards on bare floors. At least when I over heat my Eureka It will restart after it’s cooled in 30 minutes. So I pay $200 more for something that breaks after it’s used 3 times but my $70 is still going strong after 10 yes TEN YEARS…..

I just read these troubleshooting tips because the roller brush stopped functioning. I saw one tip I hadn’t already tried. So I disconnected the nozzle, reconnected it and pushed down to make sure it was completely connected. Voila! it started to spin again. Easy peasy. I’ve had my Shark Navigator since 2012 and this is the only malfunction it’s ever had. Still happy with my purchase after 8 years of heavy use.

Has anyone experienced when your roller gets caught on a cord, the motor stops and you just clear the blockage and turn it back on, it seems the brush does not turn as fast after that? Its like a loss of forcefulness from the roller and motor?

I have to make AMENDS.
Previously I wrote my twobbacs did not work, as the brushes on both units failed. After looking things over everything looked good, so I put the blame on inferior Motors.
I have to eat crow and admit it was all user error.
After continuing to check on line I came across an article that stated vac should be in carpet mode and brush does not spin unless handle is in the rear position, as if your vacuuming.
My apologies to Shark company and readers alike !

When brush won't spin? Check that the wiring in the brush assembly, is routed around the tilt indicator switch! If the wiring is routed thru the switch? Not only does the wiring get pinched, but it also interferes with the tilt switch! I just discovered if ya use the lift away feature, it makes year down and assembly sooooo much easier!!!

I have an NV500 and the bristle brush randomly stopped spinning today. I took it apart and checked the belt, bearings, and electrical connections and all of them seemed fine. So I kept digging and found that the little green switch near the hinge wasn't returning to its uncompressed location. I took it out and cleaned it up and now everything works again.
Tl; dr: Check the green switch with the metal tab.

I think I killed my brush roller on my shag carpet. I literally just got my vac 3 weeks ago. I also noticed it picks up great on hard sufaces in forward motion but not backwards. I housekeep for a living and most homes I clean have a shark but the more expensive models. I must say the better models do a fantastic job but you have to stay on top of cleaning the filters and emptying the canister. I'd still use this brand over others.

I faced a similar issue with my vacuum. It would only work when tilted and shut off when upright. After ensuring there weren't any clogs and checking other parts, I was puzzled.
I reached out to the vacuum manufacturer, and they informed me that the machine has two motors. One of the motors might've overheated.
The solution? Unplug and leave it for about 90 minutes to cool down and reset. Sure enough, after waiting, it worked flawlessly. So, before considering repairs or a new purchase, give your vacuum some time to "rest" and reset!
