SweeperVac has lost suction
The device no longer picks up as much debris.
Dirt bin is full
The dirt container is located right under the green button at the front of the SweeperVac. The dirt container is full when dirt fills to the top of the dirt container. See the filter replacement guide located here: filter replacement guide to get to the dirt container. Then, turn the dirt container over a trash can to empty the dirt out.
Filter needs cleaning
The filter needs to be cleaned. Inspect the filter for any large holes or tear. Do not clean the filter with water. If there is any damage to the filter it will need to be replaced. Replacement filters can be purchased here: Swiffer SweeperVac filter refills. Once the replacement filters are purchased, you can follow the filter replacement guide to replace the filter.
The hose is clogged
The hose could contain large debris that is obstructing suction. Unclog it by removing and inspecting the hose for anything that could block airflow. A guide can be found here: Swiffer SweeperVac clogged hose
Battery needs recharging or replacement
The battery has a low charge or could need replacement, depending on its age. The battery replacement guide can be found here: battery replacement guide.
Dust escapes from SweeperVac's dirt bin
When turned on, dust plumes from the dirt bin.
Dirt bin is not attached properly
Ensure the latch creates a perfect seal for the dirt bin. Confirm that the dirt bin is not moving when it is touched. If it is, then the dirt bin is not attached correctly.

SweeperVac won't turn on
No matter what you do, the SweeperVac refuses to turn on.
Battery is not charged
The most likely reason your SweeperVac will not turn on is because the battery is dead. Charge the battery with the provided charger for 12-18 hours or until green indicator light is on to ensure there is sufficient battery life.
Battery is completely dead
If you have charged your battery for 12-18 hours and the device still won't turn on, the battery can no longer hold a charge and will need to be replaced. A new battery can be purchased via this link: purchase new battery. Once you have purchased a new battery, you can replace it in the battery replacement guide.
Battery will not recharge
Turn off the Swiffer. The Swiffer cannot recharge if it is on. If after 12 hours of charging the battery is still incapable of powering the device, it will most likely need a replacement unit. A new battery can be purchased via this link: Purchase new battery.
Power button mechanism is jammed or not functioning
The mechanism for turning on the Swiffer SweeperVac may be damaged. You need to unjam or fix the green, plastic power buton.
SweeperVac loses battery charge quickly
After just a few minutes of cleaning, the vacuum dies.
Battery has lost its ability to hold a charge
When purchased new, the Swiffer SweeperVac can operate on battery power for approximately 10-12 minutes after 16 hours of charging. Ensure you are charging it for at least 12 hours to maintain optimal battery life. If the battery still will not hold a charge, it will need to be replaced. See our battery replacement guide.

Work on your phrasing for the following: "Ensure the latch creates a perfect seal for the dirt bin." You can use more than one sentence to explain the problem.

My swiffer vacuum is fairly new. One day it just stopped working. I plugged it in and let it charge. Now, the green light turns on but nothing is happening. I know it’s charged, because every time i turn the power button on it turns the green light on, but it doesn’t do anything else, no vacuuming or any noise at all. Any ideas? Thank you!

Stiffer vac stops. I wait a few seconds, start it and it will run for 30 seconds. I wait and it will run a bit more and shut off again. This just keeps going on. Trash it?

I have bought three of these already and every single time the power adapter stops working. When I plug it in to charge it, there is no read or green indicator light at all. I know it’s the adapter because I can use a new cord to charge my older ones and they will work just fine.

My swifter light turns green and will run for a couple of minutes and will shut off. I wait a couple of seconds and can turn back on and again will only run for a minute, or less. Is it the battery, or on/off switch? My swifter is model L4000.

I've only used my Swiffer SweeperVac maybe 6/7 times. About 3 minutes tops each time. Charged it after about 3/4 uses. Haven't used it in about 2/3 months. Now it won't charge. WHY??

Is this product disposable? I bought a 2nd one because the battery won't hold a charge and within 6 months, this one won't hold a charge either. Maybe it's just a bad product? You shouldn't have to buy a new one every year!
