Hey! My iPhone 14 pro max got into water and I am facing the same issue. Did you managed to fix it chaging any part? Any flex? Or disconnecting something? Thanks!

von

Hi, the solution is to change proximity sensor.

@flannelist Alisha, looking at this panic I see that the sensor code it's calling out is numbered 0x80000, which I assume is not the same as the 0x800 for the charge port assembly. It looks like they've got a 32 bit word and each bit turned on corresponds to an individual sensor, but at this point it doesn't look like we have any information on which sensor 0x80000 is.

Any idea where we could look for this information?

Update (06/30/23)

Okay, some news here; it looks like @tech_ni is on the right track here; according to repair.wiki, here's the definition for that sensor.

Alisha, maybe something to add to your Wiki page?

Update (06/30/23)

Ah, I see what's going on now. Repair.Wiki has codes for the iPhone 13 and 14, and it turns out the same problem has a different code on the two models. That's going to be fun to keep up with in the future.

Alisha, I've edited your Wiki to add that latest information; feel free to modify, accept or reject my changes as you feel appropriate.

@dadibrokeit THANKS I have been meaning to get around to that. I know the codes for 14 Series are different just wasn't sure if that had been sussed out yet. I know Jesse Cruz stays busy keeping a lot of the repair.wiki stuff up to date, so I would trust whatever is there.

von

Everything worked as advised once sensor is changed. Thanks

von

Which sensor did you change

von

@tapiwabynergy This entire thread has been about the proximity sensor, so I'm going to go with that.

Had the same issue with an iPhone 14 Pro Max (same panic.full error)

The iPhone had been severely damaged after the customer dropped it. We got a new screen for it and mounted that, instead of the broken one and we couldn't understand why it kept overheating and shutting down, whilst providing us this error.

Turns out it happened because the front sensor wasn't connected. :) (Turns out it's quite important, even if you only want to pull out data from the iPhone.)

Now the data is out safe and sound!
