This repair guide visually maps out how to remove and replace the tweeters on a vintage Bose Series II speaker. Take caution when handling each component to ensure a successful repair.

Begin the repair by placing the Bose-301 speaker vertically.

Using two hands, pull the speaker grill towards you and away from the speaker body.

Lay the speaker body on its back.

Using the Philips Screwdriver, carefully remove the four #2x19mm screws that mount the main speaker to the speaker body.

Carefully place the speaker off to the side.

Then untwist the slack in the wires that are connected to the tweeters.

Using the socket wrench and the 1/4" socket, unscrew the 12.5 mm bolt that mounts the tweeter to the bracket.

While holding the tweeter, use your other hand to feed the wire through the hole at the bottom of the tweeter mount.

Remove the tweeter from the mount and locate the two wires that connect it to the speaker.

Using the pliers, untwist the wires that are attached to the two small rods at the bottom of the tweeter.

Repeat process for the second tweeter.
