Kobo Glo E-reader USB Port Replacement

1. Schritt — Remove the back panel and the screws.

Make sure to store the screws somewhere you won't loose them, like on your FixMat.

2. Schritt — Disconnect the ribbon cable

All you have to do is lift the black locking arm that is keeping the ribbon cable in place. See picture.

3. Schritt — Remove the motherboard

Carefully remove the motherboard from your e-reader.

4. Schritt — Check the voltage on all six motherboard pins

Check the voltage of all six pins: if a pin shows no voltage level this probably means the pin is loose.

5. Schritt — Resolder the disconnected pin(s)

Use as much flux as possible (i.e. with the use of a flux marker).

6. Schritt — Put back the motherboard

Carefully reassemble the parts.

7. Schritt — Final check

Make sure that the e-reader functions properly before completely reassembling and closing it.
