  • Fully reinsert the dipstick and remove it again.

  • Check the oil level by looking at the markings at the bottom of the dipstick.

  • F is full, L is low, and the 0.8 means that it takes 0.8 quarts of oil to bring the level from low up to full.

  • Add or drain any oil as necessary.

  • Before driving anywhere, start the car and let it run for a couple minutes. While the engine is running, check underneath the car for any oil leaks. If oil is dripping from the drain plug you should first check for any cracks in the drain pan. If there are no cracks, tighten the drain plug.

  • You might also want to do one more oil check after running the engine for a couple minutes. The oil level may drop slightly as oil fills the circuits inside the engine.

Führe den Ölmessstab wieder vollständig ein.

Überprüfe den Ölstand indem du die die Markierungen am Ende des Stabes anschaust.

F steht für voll (full), L steht für wenig (low). Die Markierung 0.8 (~1,0 Liter) bedeutet, dass ca. 1 Liter nachgefüllt werden muss um von "wenig" bis auf "voll" aufzufüllen.

Fülle Öl nach oder lass Öl wieder ab, wenn notwendig.

Bevor du losfährst, starte den Motor und lass ihn ein paar Minuten laufen. Während der Motor läuft, schaue unter das Auto und prüfe ob es irgendwo eine Leckage gibt. Wenn Öl von der Ölablassschraube tropft, prüfe zuerst ob es Risse in der Ölwanne gibt. Wenn nicht, kannst du die Schraube nachziehen.

Du könntest den Ölstand nochmal überprüfen, wenn der Motor ein paar Minuten gelaufen ist. Der Ölstand kann sich leicht senken, wenn das Öl alle Kanäle im Motor erreicht hat.
