If you find yourself on this guide, it means your battery is draining too quickly. In that case, it might be time to replace your battery. It is important to note that for this step you must remove the touch display and motherboard in order to access the battery. Therefore, the steps for this guide begin with taking off the touch screen followed by the motherboard.

Schritt 1 Touch Display

Microwave the iOpener for about 30 seconds. Then place it on top of the screen, and let it sit for about 2 minutes.

Repeat this process a second to ensure that the glue is becoming loose.

Use the Jimmy tool carve around the edges of the screen to break the glue seal.

Schritt 4 Motherboard

Remove brown and green tape with angled tweezers

Use the reverse tweezers to gently pull on the silver box on top of the motherboard to remove it from the back cover.

Locate the wire connector on the motherboard. Slowly release the wires by gently pulling with the blunt tweezers.

Use the halberd spudger to lift and remove the battery from the back cover.

I have a Garmin 820. I've seen a video by NewLife2OldStuff on YouTube and they don't heat the seal. But I've tried their method and cant get the opening tool in the groove.
Is the removal of the screen on the 830 the same for the 820? It looks similar.
