    • If nozzle is not attached, skip to next step.

  2. Hair Dryer Heating Element Replacement, Grating: Schritt 2, Bild 1 von 1
    • Using a screwdriver, remove the screw located underneath the air concentrating nozzle. This screw attaches the hair dryer body to the hair dryer grating.

    • The purpose of this guide is to demonstrate the repair steps for a generic hair dryer. We do not specify screw sizes because screw sizes can differ between hair dryers. For most hair dryers, use a Phillips #1 Screwdriver. For hair dryers with smaller screws, consider using a Phillips #00 Screwdriver.

    • Carefully separate the plastic casing using the Plastic Opening Tools

    • This can also be done with your hands if you twist the sides of the hair dryer slightly in opposite directions.

    • Your hairdryer should now be disassembled into two large halves. You should see a fan, motor, heating element cover, and associated wiring.

  7. Hair Dryer Heating Element Replacement: Schritt 7, Bild 1 von 1
    • Remove the heat-element housing by sliding it off of the dryer in the direction away from the handle while making sure the heating element is facing up so that removal is easier.

    • If there is a casing, slightly twist as needed.

  8. Hair Dryer Heating Element Replacement, Desolder the wires: Schritt 8, Bild 1 von 1
    • Isolate the heating element.

    • Use a desoldering wick and soldering iron to desolder the wires. Refer to this soldering page for more information on soldering.

    • You will need to be careful with these wires since they will power your replacement heating element.

    • Do NOT cut them or yank the wires by any means other than soldering; this may cause further issues with your hair dryer.

Abschluss

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. Make sure wiring is enclosed in the body of the hair dryer, and the heating element casing is attached properly before screwing it closed.
