I would like it noted that this tablet has a lot of adhesive which makes removal longer. Be patient and do not rush the steps to ensure proper removal of equipment and glue.

  1. Remove the MicroSD Memory card, Sim Card, and the metal Sim Card Holder. Put them off to the side for reassembly. Now you can slowly use a plastic opening tool to go around the edge of the tablet to slowly pry upward.

Use flat edge of spudger to get underneath before prying upward, then it detaches easily

  10. To remove the battery, use the spudger or the Jimmy tool to slowly work your way around the battery. It is being held on by strips of tape so be patient with it. Work it a little bit at a time to remove the battery from the tablet.

  11. Apply a heat gun or iOpener to front of screen to allow it to warm up the glue. Use opening tool and work your way around the front of the screen. You may have to alternate applying the heat and prying to get it loose enough to separate. Be careful not overdo the heat. Use a low temperature and take your time to separate the screen.

    • Clean the black backing off of any glass still sticking to it. Mine had a lot so I had to scrape for awhile to get all the little pieces off to have a clean surface to apply the new replacement screen.

    • Apply new screen to black backing.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. You will need new adhesive to apply upon reassembly.

**The time estimate is put at an hour but depending on how much broken glass you are dealing with and having to scrap off old adhesive glue - it could take longer so please have patience when dealing with glass to not injury yourself.

Do you mean you took one speaker out or the speaker is no longer functioning properly?

Are you using a prying tool and going around the edges of the tablet to open it? What exactly is happening?

MissHeather -

The backlight stopped working after trying to test the screen before install. Any ideas as to why this would stop?

The iPhone Guy - Antwort

If you can, I would retrace your steps to make sure everything is hooked up accordingly and test the parts for anything that might be damaged. Check the cables and see if the connectors are dirty or anything is obstructing a secure connection.

is there a way to get my lg pad repaired professionally and cheap?

Jasper the crystal gem - Antwort

There's actually an easier way: order the replacement part from Ebay; follow the instructions above until step 9 and you can't go wrong. A seller in Ebay have the complete screen assembly for $34.76. A real bargain. This is the Ebay item number: 172233283111.

Macrossps answered it pretty nicely. If you don't have the time and tools, I understand wanting to get it repaired professionally but understand that on old devices it can be cheaper to do it yourself. You can find people who will do it for you but it depends on your location and what services are available there. I like macrossps idea on the full screen assembly as an option too.

Where can I buy proper adhesive?

Chris Gordon - Antwort

I use amazon to get my tape. Make sure it is 3m or you will be disappointed. They have a variety of thicknesses to suit your needs.

Jeremy Dack -

I used Amazon as well for adhesive tape and got a good deal. Definitely check there if you want a good deal or have a Prime Account.
