Can I use a processor with a higher TDP than my original?

I want to upgrade my CPU from a i5 to an i7.

I have a Mid 2011 27" i5-2500S 2.7Ghz.

This iMac originally had the option to upgrade to a 2.8Ghz i7-2600S but id like to use a i7-2600 3.4Ghz that was available for the top spec one at the time, but comparing the two the 3.4 has a Max TDP 95 W where the other has the same TDP as my original.

What should i do?
