screen unresponsive after replacement

i have a iphone 4 and had to replace the screen and since doing so it comes on but the touch wont work i took extra care not to damage any wires i put it down to a faulty screen so replaced it only to have the same problem again is there anything else that could stop it working ? i used this site to strip it down and made sure all screws and parts was clearly marked
