Screen backlight works, but black
I attempted to install a new rear housing on the iPhone 5. I tore the cable for the volume buttons and vibrator by accident when removing the battery. When I put the phone back together the phone powered up and connected to iTunes with the back light on, but the screen was black.
I replaced the broken cable for the volume buttons and vibrator and rebuilt the phone again. When I started it up the screen worked fine for several minutes. Then, once again it turned black with the backlight still operational.
Now I am confused and not sure what to replace. Any help would be appreciated.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?
Did you find the answer yet? I'm having the same problem but I didn't tear any of the flex cables. In fact it was working fine without me making any changes other then gluing a new LCD to the front glass. Once I installed the "Glued" screen is when the screen was black with only the backlight creeping out from the edges.
Not sure what the problem is either. Oh, I also tested it with a new working lcd assembly and it did the same thing so I know it's the phone and not the LCD.
Any help? Thank you

I have not found an answer yet. Mine briefly worked after replacing the flex cable. Then it stopped working. I'm afraid it may be a logic board issue? But there doesn't seem to be any good answers out there yet on this issue.
