Die PlayStation 2 wird oft als "PS2" bezeichnet. Sie kam in Japan im März 2000 heraus. Reparaturen erfordern nur ganz normales Werkzeug, sind aber manchmal etwas trickreich.

The video port has a loose connection.

I have an original Playstation 2 and it is definitely showing its age. The port that the original AV cables connect to in the back of the console have become worn out with use over time. When I attempt to play my games the screen flickers on the t.v. or I lose video altogether. Audio is still present, regardless. Is there way to order the part to replace this port and solder to the board? Or, does anyone have a nifty hardware hack to wire new leads directly to an AV cable? I am assuming all I would need for the second choice is the pin out diagram for the PS2. I have several AV cables just laying about that I could use.

Did you try a different Audio/video cable?

Sometimes the wear and tear is on the plug of the AV cable and not the AV port of the PS2.

Also try inspecting the AV cable's plug that connects to the PS2. Make sure that none of the pins or the metal shroud is bent or broken.

I do not have another cable to try out, but I was able to check the pins on the cable and, guessing that they may be loose from the years of use, I pried each of the pins towards the center of the plug. This seemed to help a little bit. The screen does not flicker as much as it used to but still does go out from time to time.
