The drive is msde by Toshiba having the Model No. SD-M1612 and a Serial No. 2768107255.

Guy, the SD-M1612 is a straight forward 16X48X ATAPI IDE DVD ROM DRIVE. you can get the manual for it from here. The drive is avaiable at multiple places like Ebay.com and amazon.com. This place says they have an original replacement. Hope this helps, good luck.

I purchased this unit, but when I looked at the unit inside Bose 3-2-1 the units casing had been modified to fit and was longer , also the front had a wedge shape as opposed to the square end of the normal pc unit, there was no way this normal unit would fit the unit but all leads are the same.

Hello, could you please publish a photo of the diskdrive, I like to offer such a unit not sure if it would have the same problem even it is the SD-M 1612-
