connected to AC power supply without the adapter

I've connected my xoom device to the power supply by cutting off the adapter wire and plug into AC power supply. After some time it blown up and stopped working. I know it's a mistake to connect it without an adapter, but i want to know which part will be damaged so i can replace or it would be damaged permanently?

Hey mate, if I'm reading this right, and you have directly fed AC power, into your device, you will have permanently damaged it and you will need to buy a new xoom device.
