Finger print recognition failure

Hello Comrade.

I have an iPhone 5s 16gb gold. After replacing the home button with fingerprint recognition it doesn't seem to recognise any finger print. I cannot set any finger print or lock my device with the fingerprint security. Who might be knowing a fix to this?

You cannot replace the home button on the 5S and still use the fingerprint sensor.

The original sensor in the button is tied to the phone.

Robinson M, that is exactly what happens when your replace the home button. The touch ID sensor is designed to be secure and it is uniquely paired with each specific phone. There is no way to restore that particular function. Read more about that on here. and on here as well. "unique logic board in each iPhone 5S and the fingerprint data is stored on the A7 chip". Hope this helps, good luck.

Update on this issue: Apple can actually fix this by replacing the display assembly, they are able to re-provision the security pairing. As long as you have warranty or willing to pay about $100, you can get it fixed.

Is the id in the actual button, or is it in the resistors mounted on the flex?

If its on the flex, would it be possible to transfer these over?

This has been asked before and it is all basically too delicate - you would end up destroying it either way.

I wonder if Apple themselves are able to re-pair sensors and motherboards ?

Surely ?

Yeah...for the same price as a new phone they would!

I can imagine them pairing everything in the future :(
