I have a iPod Touch 3rd generation and their is not a step by step guide so i was wondering if one of the iPhone is the same to the iPod Touch in terms of assembly or just changing the glass?

No, the iPhone is completely different internally from the iPod Touch. As Josh suggests, use the 2nd gen guides as the two are virtually identical. I'm guessing that's why iFixit hasn't made any guides, it's simply not worth it.

I would actually recommend you follow the guide for the 2nd generation iPod Touch, as opposed to one of the iPhone ones.

ok so the iPod touch 2nd generation guide is fine for the 3rd generation? and are the parts the same too because the 3rd generation parts are sold out so can i just use the 2nd generation front panel assembly?

If you have an 8 gig the parts are interchangeable. Otherwise check ebay
