cracked lenovo yoga 10 b8000 tablet screen how to

I have a cracked screen on my lenovo yoga 10 b6000 tablet only screen damage lcd is working fine. how can I repair this and would I need the digitizer touch screen or will I need a whole new lcd and digitizer touch screen. I have searched all over the web and no one has any tutorials regarding replacing the screen or screen with lcd unit. please can some help I will need to know how to disassemble and replace cracked screen with and without lcd unit.

Unfortunatly sam i have not found any instructions on opening and replacing the screen/digitizer. The closest i found is some guy on youtube opening the back of it to get his memory card which had ended up inside the back screen. He didnt use the right tools but managed to opened the back. Here is the link to that,

It don't relate to my problem though has i have no idea what will need to be disconnected to beable to remove old screen/digitizer. I dont want to touch it unless i find full instructions that i can follow

Oh and i did find someone who would replace it but he quoted me £110 to replace the screen plus digitizer he dosnt want to touch just the screen. The actual tablet cost me £199.99 brand new so the quote price is a bit steep in my opinion.

Yes that's the only problem with lenovo I'm going to stay with kindle from amazon for now thanks for anny replies

This is usually a concern with tablets that are not as popular, not as much developer/repair support. Separating the glass is possible but it's knowing where is safe to pry and where the cables are connected. Replacing the LCD is usually always easier, if you know what you are doing you can pry the screen up and see what's what from there but I wouldn't recommend doing it if you have never done it before.

Thanks david my thoughts exactly. il invest in another tablet eventually then i might just try to repair the broken tablet gung ho as a project. The only thing iv ever done is replace the casing on an xbox 360 controller following youtube tutorials. Its a shame no one has done a repair on a lenovo yoga to show how to do it.

Had the same problem, I ordered a digitizer screen at Ali Express.

Got it in a week. When disassembling the unit, I found, that the LCD, 2 foils and the digitizer panel are all glued together, so disassembly is not possible.

You need to order the display assembly complete. (Also at Ali Express by the way)

Pricing for the complete unit is about 78 Euro.

the tablet screen is shattered in one corner with radials going in 2 directions, I have already purchase the Lcd screen and I am going to use the shattered part as a reference or entry point since the damage is already there. If I fail I will purchase a new Lenovo tablet.

Hi robert in the end i sent it with my collegue to india and had the screen replaced with lcd digitiser worked out cheaper than what i was quoted. Anyhow my son dropped it again two weeks ago screen was fine but wouldnt turn on the bit near the battery barrel was slightly opened I managed to prise the backing apart and saw the strip that connects to the battery was slightly cut I know what to do with that just buy another battery unit and connect its strip to the motherboard its fairly simple to do. Anyhow I ended up purchasing the yoga 2 10inch and using the old tablet as a project. I have noticed ifixt has a teardown of the lenovo yoga 2 its similar to the internals of the original yoga search it it will help u.
