Before plugging in AC adaptor forgot to turn off camera

I want to continue to use my mini DV camera, but I accidentally broke it by forgetting to turn off the camera before plugging in AC adaptor. This blew something inside the camera as it will not work with the standard battery either.

Please let me know if there is something in the panel inside that I can replace to remedy the problem.

mycharkstudio2, this will depend on your skills and patience. Use this guide to work on your camera. I believe there is a fuse on the board for the power circuitry. Take some high-res images and post those with your question. That will allow us to see what you see.
