I would suggest someone commit Harakiri with a spoon prior to trusting you with heat near an electronic item. Yes I suggested using a hair dryer for a reflow. Theres no major chips around the Macbook air's gpu that would be compromised. Why? because this is a DIY website. Most people would not buy proper equipment for ONE repair. People here look for ways to fix it themselves. I on the other hand do have proper equipment with controlled temperature output. I do repairs for living with over 8 years of experience working solely with apple products. I've done iphone 5s blue screen of death repairs. Thats one of the hardest repairs that can be done. I suggest you keep your opinions to yourself. In regards to the response for the reflow it was just a suggestion so that the person can retrieve their data which if you had read, that was the question.

Insofar as people on this site keeping their opinion to themselves, if they did you would never get an answer voted up or an accepted answer. There is nothing wrong with promoting yourself here, I actually think it is a good idea. Just remember publicity is a double edged sword. By your own admission using a hair dryer to reflow isn't the right way to go. It is best to steer people away from doing things than showing them how to half azz it.
