Replace LCD without blowing fuse again?

Recently tore down an iPad Mini 1st Gen GSM. I believe that the LCD backlight fuse has blown due to the fact there is no display. The iPad will connect to iTunes, but I obviously have no display. I understand that the battery connector must be disconnected first before disconnecting the LCD or digitizer. I've ordered another LCD and it will arrive tomorrow. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to fix this iPad Mini?

Hi,

If you blew a backlight fuse, using a new screen will confirm it for you, not solve it.

The fuse is on the logic board, not in the screen.

So if you try the new screen and still see a very dim image, then yes you need to troubleshoot your backlight circuit and most probably replace a fuse. In my opinion, this does not qualify as a DIY project unless you have the right micro-soldering tools, skills, and of course can source the replacement parts. I'd send it out for repair in this case, if I were you.

But first, with everything connected, try a simple reboot if you have not done that yet:

Press and hold power + home button together for circa 12 seconds. Release home button but keep pressing power button until iPad restarts. Any better?
