Touchscreen without reaction after restart

Hello, out of the sudden the touchscreen of my Nexus 7 2nd gen. stopped working after a restart without a particular physical impact.

Everything else works as is should, I can connect a mouse and operate the tablet.

Would it make sense to replace the touchscreen or could it be anything else?
