iMac Intel 17" display defect, changing with a iMac G5 17" display?

Hi there,

Our 17" iMac (2006) Core Duo's display is broken. Is it possible to use a iMac G5 17" display in a newer iMac Intel 17" model?

No. They look identical but the G5 model is different electronicly. It even prevents an Intel iMac from booting up. Tried it, been there.
