Is the aperture ring the same thing as the shutter that protects the lens? That's what fell off of my camera. No local shop is interested in fixing it. They suggest that sending it back to Nikon would cost more than the camera is worth. Don't know. Like the camera but want the lens protected.

Hi,
Same problem on a coolpix S3700.
I have found 4 plastic parts, and on tiny spring. No clue how I can fixi t back.
