Why are there dots all over the screen?
the picture comes in on the tv, but there are white dots all over the screen

pokey9657, white dots, white snow or sparkling stars on your DLP TV are a sign of a failed DMD chip. Since you did not give us any model of your TV, the only thing I can suggest is to replace it to repair your TV.
