2 Motorola Talkabout T5500: No connection between radios.
The batteries in one of the radios leaked and I cleaned up the battery compartment. Since then the affected radio sends a ring and no response is heard from the other radio. There is no response either by ringing or voice communication from either radio , no matter which one originates the call. Is there a trouble shooting procedure for coming up with a fix?

Can you open the faulty unit and see if there is any damage caused by the acid leak from the battery?

Good question. I did open it and there was no damage to the circuit board. It was clean beyond the battery compartment.

Hi,
If you have a DMM (Voltmeter) check that there is full voltage reaching the board. The battery terminals connections to the board may be high resistance due to the acid leak, either lowering the voltage or current flow from the battery. Don't know the specs but if you have 3 batteries (in series connection) it should be 4.5V. Alternatively use the Ohmmeter function to test continuity from battery compartment to board. Should read 0 (zero) Ohms (remove batteries first). Sorry if you know this.

The voltage was 4.5 volts and the continuity from the battery compartment to the board was 0. The continuity thru the circuit board was 20 ohms if that means anything.
