HTC One M7 camera not working, open back

Hi,

I just replaced the top speaker. So before i closed the phone i ran a few tests: screen, sound, usb, front camera, rear camera. The front camera is working fine with third party camera apps, but the rear camera is not working at all. The HTC camera app stays black, then crashes. Is it normal that the camera will not work as long as the back of the phone is open?
