I have a gateway DX 4870 Ub20P desktop that has 4 memory slots. It will hold 16Gb of ram. Can I use two 8GB modules, or should I use four 4GB modules?

What have you got installed at the moment?
If you have 2 x 4GB modules installed at the moment work out what would be the cheapest option, using quality brand memory. Upgrade to 16GB using same specification 4GB DDR3 10600 1333MHz ram modules i.e add another 2 x 4GB, or add 1 X 8GB DDR3 10600 1333MHz ram module.
