Is it possible to change the charging port on an iPad mini 3? The steps in the disassembly process and it looks like it is tied to the motherboard...I don't want to take the whole thing apart if its not possible.

Yes the charging port can be replace but it's soldered to the motherboard. so you will need soldering skills to do the repair. The charging ports very seldom goes bad, so unless you have damage to the charging port it may not be the charging port giving your problem, but a chip on the motherboard.
