Why are there colourful dots and lines in a black background?

I accidentally slept over my phone last night, and when I woke up this morning, the screen wouldn't turn on. It would show a black background with colourful dots, and when you press a certain area, lines will show up. I still can hear the notifications, volume button vibrate. The problem is just I can't see any apps or background, all I can see is a black background with colourful dots and lines.

This sounds like the lcd was damaged . Can you see any response to touch at all ? Does there appear to be any damage to the phone like cracks in the screen or bends in the frame? Have you tried going to command lines. This is done by holding the power button and the down volume button at the same time . If this shows up on screen simply go to the boot normally .

I've tried pressing the power button and the down volume together for lots of times, and still doesn't work. The phone still works, but the screen is black, so I can't see anything.

How do you repair the lcd?

to repair the lcd you need to replace it .This video shows how https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXNO_PZR... they use a hot air gun its best to get it to about 200F I also use either guitar picks or a old credit card to pry off the old screen . New screen lcd digitizers can be purchased on amazon . or ebay. It appears that they dont sell the a5 screens here only the s5 Hope this helps
