Forgot login password and I am locked out help

I can't log into my laptop as I have stupidly forgot my password please help. The laptop is set to boot into safe mode as I needed to delete a file that couldn't be deleted in the normal boot up mode. I would usually just use the pin instead of my password please help!!!!!!?
