Hi,
When you say you removed the battery, did you mean the main battery or the coin cell battery on the motherboard?
Here is a link to the service manual for your laptop.
http://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-pr...
On p.37 it details how to remove the coin cell battery. Removing / replacing this battery will reset BIOS, CMOS and NVRAM and hopefully by doing this you might get it going again, (no guarantees but at this stage if it doesn't work, all that you've lost is some time).
Here is the procedure:
1. Disconnect the system from external power source, remove the main battery.
2. Use the service manual to locate and remove the coin cell battery. Take note of its orientation so that you know which way to re-insert it. If necessary, take a picture of it before you remove it, so you know which side is up.
3. Press the power button for at least 10 seconds to drain all residual power from the system.
4. Re-insert the coin cell battery. See step 2 regarding battery orientation
5. Assemble the unit and verify functionality
Hopefully when the system is powered on, it will warn that the date and time is not set, indicating a successful reset
