So I got an iPod that is disabled an now I have to reset it and I have no clue how, and I can't have the person go into their iTunes and reset it because they forgot and I really need this iPod to work.

@lunarsonarr if it is iCloud locked there is no way for you to reset it unless you get the previous owner to do so.

Umm... Activation lock wasn't a thing until iOS 7... There is no iCloud lock. He means that it is disabled.

@gigabit87898 you are correct but if the iPod is running ios 7 and does indeed have Activation Lock on it, then only the original owners password will unlock it. So you are making the assumption that it has iOS less than 7

Get iTunes running on a computer. While holding the cable plugged into the computer, press the home button. Make sure it is off first. About a half second after you start holding the home button, plug in the charger. Keep holding the home button. One it shows a charger and a iTunes logo, let go of the home button. Click restore on iTunes. Hit next a bunch of times and it will be like new.
