Need replacement volume control pot

Hi there -

I need to replace the volume control pot on my Sennheiser 120 headset.

Does anyone know where I can find a new pot?

OR, does anyone know what the part number is?

Thanks, Steve W

@stevew_ RS120, HDR120 or another model?

The headset is an HDR 120.

Volume ctl pot's are common but do come in different sizes...they also have a resistance value printed or stamped on it's body: for example in ohms or K-ohms having said that! their are exceptions when no markings are found. If it is not physically broken a repair may be possible.

I doubt their is a part No for this item but can be bought cheaply.

Forgot to add that the resistance value of these pots can be in Mega ohms as well.

Furthermore they are not linear but log types.

If only the body of the pot has come apart and the carbon track is intact and their is no value printed ... use a dvm or multimeter to determine the value that is the two outer terminala of the pot.

Thank you - this is better than the $40-$50 they want to fix it at the factory...

Well - I was hoping for a part number so I could order it without putting my headphones out of service.

I guess that the best thing for me to do is plan on taking it out so I can look at it closely. There should be a P/N of some kind on there that might lead to a replacement.

It has some kind of a support appurtenance that is part of it. That would be a must so the pot doesn't get pushed into the headphone cup as I use the volume control.

Thanks for your help - Steve W

The pot has a total resistance that can be found using a dvm or multimeter connect both leads to the outer tags using the ohms range on your meter...if unsure what range to use start from the lowest setting that would be ohms then k ohms then mega ohms.
