iPhone 5 randomly shuts off? Why! Help!

So I was on my iPhone 5 and I had updated a lot of apps, so I press the home button twice to well you know! But it wasn't working so I turned it off, a simple turn off, and then pres the home screen. I kept unlocking it with my finger print scan and it said it was unlocked but wouldn't go to the home screen when I press the home button, so then i swiped to the side and swiped back and then it wouldn't let me go back to the side. So I started getting panicked and I instantly shut it off, the full power off, but it wouldn't shut off all the way, so it is a black screen with a little loading device. I waited a bit but it didn't change, so I asked my sister, she said this had never happened to her before and i should probably just shut it off, charge it and wait for the morning. But my anxiety kept my up and I couldn't fall asleep without doing some browsing on the web, I even tried to call Apple but to sign in I had to receive a text message which didn't come in through my phone. So I have no idea what to do and if this phone breaks then I can't get another one for like two years! So someone please help me! I'm starting to become desperate! If it changes tomorrow morning than Thank You but if it doesn't please help me! Someone!
