Screen is displaying colors odd, looks blotchy

I installed a frontlight on my Gameboy color and everything was just fine. I wanted to redo the LOCA though to get rid of some air bubbles between the light and screen. I took it apart and redid it and then suddenly now the screen is displaying colors all blotchy. Certain colors seem washed out and others, like black, are a spotty mess of different shades of black and whatnot. I had an extra LCD on hand so I replaced the screen but that didn't help. I removed the frontlight also and tried various gsmes. I'm wondering if I damaged the circuit board in some way? Does anyone have any ideas on what components could cause something like that?
