Tv starts to flicker while Connecting Ps4

I just got this new smart 4k tv, it seems to work fine all around, but I want to use it for gaming mainly, using my ps4. I plugged in my ps4 HDMI to tv, tried ALL ports, switched cables, outlets, etc. I'm pretty tech savvy, and yet I don't know what is going on.. while ps4 is powered on, light, dim, light dim, and actually just showed my console dashboard for a split second then went out. All cords are seated properly, yes. Any help?
