iPhone 3GS reboot during call

Hello,

My iPhone 3GS is doing a reboot during a call, after about 5 minutes. This happens since I have upgraded to iOS 4. I've tried all versions of iOS 4 and have now iOS 4.2.1 on my device.

A lot of people have this problem, but there is still no solution on the web. And there is no way to go back to iOS 3.1.3.

This problem is also discussed in the Apple forum.

Do you know this problem and have a solution for it?

regards Robert

have same problem on a 3g, works fine without the sim in... not much help when it's supposed to be a phone. am working on the problem but as i think it's software related and only happened when the customer upgraded I think i'll just sit and wait it out or try a jailbreak...

You could try to disconnect and after a few minutes reconnect the battery. That theoretically resets the phone BIOS and is supposed to help regarding the reboot issue (see post by NIKKOH007 on page 138 on the Apple forum).

Or replace the battery altogether with a newer, iOS 4 compatible battery (like it is offered here).

Can't wait for your feedback :)

Just came across this site http://www.iphonehacks.com/2010/07/how-t... and it beats the heck waiting for an official upgrade to happen.I know it says it's for a 3G but heck, why not try it? I would at least give it a try and see what happens.....good luck

Robert,

I found a post here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa...

Look at post 29 from "Homer4x4"

It seems updating the IOS 4.0.1 (now 4.2.1) resolves this issue.

I hope this is helpful. Try using ITunes to update your device to the latest IOS.

Sam

I only started having the problem AFTER i installed a new battery and Upgrading to the latest OS. Unfortunately I did both in the one hit so I don't know which is the culprit.

David.
