Charging or general start booting problem

Hi,

I have just a question concerning charging and switching on the surface.

I bought one recently on ebay and it needed LCD replacement.

It came without charger an meanwhile I bought one too.

The situation is now, that no LCD is attached but via the Display Port, I plugged a screen. But nothing happen when I try to switch it on.

Is the surface able to boot without an LCD attached?
