So I was clearing off space on my MacBook white (late 2009), the computer itself runs fine considering it’s not my main computer and I was even able to have MacOS Sierra on it with no problem.
But now I can’t get past the white screen. What should I do?

You might try some of these out. NOt sure if they would work on the slightly onlder models, but if you think it's worth a shot...

Boy, this is becoming a epidemic,
I'm in same club,, with basically same OS, El Capitan I'm sure is the pre cursor of.
Only I got the flashed view what was on the screen the night before, now nothing,, when power is turned on. Not good.
