I cracked my screen and bought a new assembly from ifixit. After installing, my speaker barely works. When I talk on the phone, I have to turn volume up all the way, and it's still hard to hear. I used to keep my volume below the halfway point. My fear is that the speaker is broken, but perhaps there's some fix I don't know of.

This happened to a client of mine this week. When I replaced the LCD assembly to her phone I forgot to remove the plastic. There are TWO of them, one for the screen and a more difficult to see one that just covers the speaker on the handset.
