My adaptor switches off when l plugged it to the laptop, what can be a problem??

Hi,

Have you got access to another compatible adapter that you can try?

It may be that there is a problem in the laptop's power supply circuitry and the adapter switches off to prevent more damage from occurring to the laptop.

Use a magnifying glass to visually inspect the laptop's DC power socket to check that it is alright and has not been damaged.
