clip that holds the display ribbon in place is broken

I have a similar issue with a board from an IPOD Classic 6. The brown clip that holds the display ribbon in place is broken. Is it at all possible to replace it with a clasp from another board?

What are the other alternatives to such a repair?

@krams you can try to replace the clasp from a broken board, but make sure you do this very carefully. The clasp has a tendency of cracking in the middle. The display cable requires the clasp in order to force the cable down and make proper contact. The other way to do it is finding a broken logic board and desolder the connector and resoldering it onto your board. Not easy and requires micro-soldering tools and skills. The only other way is to replace the complete board.

Thank you @oldturkey03! I have been following your responses to questions for some time and greatly appreciate your breadth of expertise and knowledge :) At this time, I do have a spare board lying around and am game to try to replace the socket from another board. As you say this is a delicate step. By any chance would you happen to have any instructions or pictures on how to do this? Any special tools needed? Is there a part number for this piece so I could look for a replacement part? Are they interchangeable between the a1136 and a1238 boards?

@krams there are not interchangeable with a A1136. Let me see what I can come up with regarding instructions.

I have to report that I was grossly unsuccessful! The clasp promptly started to crumble with the slightest touch. When you said delicate - I did not understand how delicate! I appreciate your time with the responses. Thank you.
