Does the clock have a user replaceable backup battery inserted in it at all? (It should be in a battery compartment on the underside of the clock).
Normally if you don't have a backup battery installed, the clock will be flashing the time to indicate that there has been a power outage, that's why I asked if you had a backup battery
If it does have a backup battery installed it may be that the battery is failing and if you have had a power failure during the night it may not keep the correct time, during the power outage, as it is too weak.
As soon as the power is restored the time continues on from there correctly, but obviously it is now not the correct time as the clock has slowed during the outage. You may not have realized that there had been a power outage because the time is on steady and it is not flashing and have to be reset.
If it has a backup battery installed, try the following to test it:
Switch off the power to the radio for about an hour and check that the time is still correct at the end of the hour. If it isn't exactly correct then the battery needs to be replaced.
Note: The backup battery only maintains the time and alarm settings during a power outage. It cannot supply enough power for the radio to work.
If it hasn't got a backup battery installed does it continually lose time during the day, i.e. if you check or set the correct time in the morning does it still display the correct time in the afternoon or evening?
