Digitizer replaced twice but screen is unresponsive in many places.

Hi,

I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab A6, T585 which was recently subjected to a WWE takedown by my 1½ year old daughter, completely shattering the original digitizer.

I therefore went and bought a new digitizer from a renowned retailer here in Denmark and paid about $50 for it.

It arrived and I carefully removed the broken digitizer as per the instructions in the guides available at this site, and only experienced minor difficulties with the original adhesive, which required some effort and time to remove gently.

I installed the new digitizer, reconnected the battery, LCD and digitizer ribbons and assembled the tablet for startup. It turned on as it should but when I had to enter my password, I realized the screen was hardly responsive at all with large areas of the screen not responding to touch at all. I contacted the retailer explaining the issues I was facing, and they immediately sent for a replacement free of charge, which I received and installed in the same fashion some days later.

Hopefull I turned on the tablet, but realized the problem persisted, and so the digitizer could hardly be at fault. I tried to insert small pieces of films to ensure the connection of the ribbons were tight enough, but no luck.

I therefore proceeded to wipe the cache with no luck, then a factory reset to no avail and now here I am hoping you people have some advise/solutions.

Thank you for reading!

Cheers,

Søren

The probability that 2 digitizers would have the same problem is small. I would suspect that there is damage to the connector on the motherboard. If you can examine the connector with magnification, look for any pins that are out of alignment. Also, look at the solder connections for the connector on the board and check for any cracks. This would be the common point for the two screens.

If you can take a hi-res picture of the connector and post it here, that would help too.
