I have Pink screen / Ghosting Display Issues

I've had my lenovo for about 2 months , no issues apart from the processor throttling when heavy gaming , which is from what i've gathered a problem with cooling due to crappy manufacturing. Anyway I woke up today , played a solid 2 hours of League of legends on my laptop , turned it off , gave it a bit off a wipe with a cloth , very gently around the LCD area as usual , then when I went to turn it back on , it had this pinkish tint in the screen , like a magnet had been near one of those TV's , so i turned it off and turned it back on , because i had fixed it before by doing such , but now it has this Ghosting display showing the desktop whilst its booting and when im using any apps or browser , it also has a pink tint , anyway , seen some people with the same issue , tried their solutions , drivers are up to date , if i plug in an external monitor the external monitor's display is perfect , so i can assume it is my LCD. I don't really want to go through the hasle of a new LCD , and find out that my LCD works perfectly or something , so i just wanted to ask if anyone has some solutions for this and if it has happened to anyone else here ? I did also take off the screen , fiddled around with the Laptop LCD cable but no joy , just the same old pink screen with ghosting.

Same problem too, ad it seems so do lots of people with ZERO fix offered from Lenovo other than usual reset, reinstal drivers!! Ive even tried a new lcd which has cost me but its NOT the lcd, . Feel like a gfx card driver error. it leaves long ghosts , ven after hours of closing the lid. Plus a huge pink screen at startup. now its totally green tinged and hard on your eyes!!! LENOVO you must hae a fix or software to test it? Your onlie auto detect sys 'its fine;' IT IS NOT!!!

Try to conect an external monitor in hdmi if you see correctly then is the LCD and not the gfx card

von

Done that, plus bought new lcd which did not work.. trying new cable when that arrives

No, you have to try with an HDMI cable and external monitor. If you tried this and also see pink/green on HDMI monitor (really strange) so its grapich card. But i don't think you see problems on external monitor. Because I had the same problem and on external monitor no problem

How was your luck with a new display cable?

Hi @stevemc356 ,

It appears as though the LCD screen is faulty.

As you’ve only had the laptop a couple of months, it should still be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

I suggest that you verify the purchase date of the laptop, and then consult the manufacturer’s warranty statement, (usually found in the documentation that came with the laptop - if not search online for Lenovo Y50-70 warranty), as to what you have to do to make a claim for a manufacturer’s warranty repair or replacement.

Hi @stevemc356 ,

Could be a problem with the video cable connection on the motherboard or the screen making good connections or perhaps even internal connections in the screen itself but as it is still covered by warranty, you wouldn't want to void that by opening the laptop to find out, not that you can do anything about the internal connections in the screen anyway except replace it.

You could wait and see if it reappears again but then hopefully the warranty is still valid if it does.

Hi, so I have the same issue you have right now. I also have the same model laptop you have. I'm just wondering if waiting it out to the next mourning officially resolved the issue and if I should just as well.
