Will the new 2018 MBP TB 15" SSD be an upgradable product?

Thinking about picking up a new 2018 MBP 15 TB it’s base configuration 256GB SSD will hold for awhile, but would like to know if anyone has tried to replace the drive with a bigger (512GB-1TB) SSD yet?

Thanks,

Joseph,

Unfortuantely back in 2015 Apple decided that customer upgrades would no longer be an option. Below I have attached another thread where I answered this question in great detail.

Is it possible to upgrade Memory (RAM) and Storage (SDD) later?

I hope this helps,

Charlie B

Thanks Charlie, spot on with answer...NOT the answer I was hoping for :) but accurate and helpful in making purchasing decisions going forward. I have an mid 2012 MBP 15RD which I have loved because at least I had upgrade options...thanks again

Thank you for choosing my solution as the answer, and I also have the 2012 MBP as my carry laptop. I love how easy it is and how long the battery lasts for its capability.

Not entirely true...in 2015 Apple stopped us upgrading RAM on all MacBook Pros, but removable SSDs did remain on the non-touch bar models of MacBook Pros (the ones with only 2 thunderbolt ports), but sadly today (2022) those days are long gone!
