Every time I have seen this, it has been a swollen battery. There nothing else in there that will do that. This is a factory defective battery so I would run to the Apple store before your warranty expires. I usually take out an extended AppleCare warranty anytime I have a problem within the first year of a product. The odds you will need it go way up.

I would recommend you go to an Apple Store or Apple authorized center ASAP!
Your battery has swelled up! This should be covered under warranty!
In the meantime don’t user your system and don’t charge it! And I do strongly recommend you not leave it on your bed or other flammable material just in case the battery lets loose!
