Engine breaking is very rough

I am a new rider and when i let go of the throttle my bike jerks, i know this is engine breaking but when going 10-15 mph it is very rough and overall the throttle is just very jumpy when letting go. Is there anyway to make it not do this when i let go of the throttle?
