PS3 B/C 80GB HDMI Output Issue

Hello all!

I’ve seen some good answers to other issues, so thought I would bring mine and see if I could get some ideas.

I have a Backward Compatible PS3 80GB 4USB unit. It has worked great. I recently had to replace my TV due to an electrical storm which fizzled my old TV. Today I tried to fire up the PS3 for the first time since the switch and it does not output through HDMI. IT does output through Component. Now, before you start yelling about video reset beeps, here are the steps I have taken:

Tried known working HDMI cable. No change in status.

Tried different ports, known to work, on the TV. No change in status.

Tried Video reset via Component cable. Selecting HDMI results in 30 seconds of No Input on the proper HDMI port the PS3 is connected to. No change in status.

I set up the Component so that I could attempt to set up the Audio settings. Audio setting, when set to HDMI, states no HDMI device detected by the PS3, despite the HDMI cable plugged into it. No change in status.

I did a quick reset of the settings, in case something got scrambled there, which has occurred with me before. No change in status.

I checked the previous 19” LCD TV and its resolution matches the resolution of the new TV, which had to have been set when I plugged the PS3 into it, as it came from a 1080p TV to my office with the lower resolution TV. No change in status.

I have unplugged, for approximately 15 minutes, the TV and PS3 and used the order of cable connection from the Playstation Support Site. No change in status.

I am currently restoring the PS3 to Factory, in case it is an issue with the Firmware. If this does not provide a solution, I can at least continue with the Component connection for the short term. Reset did not get HDMI working. No change in status.

9/10/18 Edit: Attempted to reboot into safe mode. Got the double beep on the second power up, however no signal output to either HDMI or Composite for safe mode. No change in status.

I am going to unplug the TV for 30 minutes to see if the HDMI is just overwhelmed, which I have read has occurred. If this does not do it, I will bring the switch from the main TV back here and see if that helps fix the issue.

Meantime, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions not already outlined above, please share. :)
